MARK GURNOW

Director of Bands

Mark Gurnow is in his fifteenth year at Allatoona High School, where he has served as Director of Bands since the program opened in 2008. Under his leadership, the program has grown into one of Georgia's premier band programs — earning 3x Bands of America Regional Finalist recognition, multiple Grand Champion titles at Georgia competitions, and superior GMEA ratings every year across all concert ensembles. Mr. Gurnow is a graduate of the University of Alabama, where he studied under Dan Drill and Dr. Harry Price. He is an active clinician, guest conductor, and adjudicator throughout the country.

Jonah Ewing, Assistant Director of Bands

JONAH EWING

Assistant Director of Bands

Jonah Ewing is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Education and a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Ewing has worked with band programs across Ohio and Texas, serves on the staff of Music City Drum and Bugle Corps, and performed with the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps. He is passionate about developing exceptional musicians and people at Allatoona High School.
